Florida
is one of the best spots in the world
for sport fishing. I'm
an avid fisherman and a licensed boat
captain. I love piloting a boat over the
blue waters of Tampa Bay and seeing
the silver flash of snook and tarpon.
By
etching the surface of my aluminum
sculpture of a snook, and bending it
into undulating waves, I give it a sense
of life and motion that echoes the
beauty of a swimming snook.

The next two images offer different
views of the same subject--the coastline
of Tampa Bay.
In this image, the perspective is that
of a "landlubber"...the emphasis is on the
landmass of Tampa Bay. The image is
virtually a map.

In the second image, the emphasis is
reversed to show the perspective of a
water creature. The water of Tampa
Bay becomes the dominant focus of the
work. If you were a manatee or a snook,
this would be your map of Tampa Bay!

This image of a woman seated on the
moon and looking at herself in a mirror
was an experiment in transposing an old
design found on a mirror from the 1920's.

This image shows the logo of a local
business interpreted in aluminum, finished
with my signature surface embellishment
and colored gold.
