Aluminum Sculpture Maps of Tampa Bay by Mic Knight

. Tampa Bay, the waterbody, is defined by the land mass that surrounds it. And Tampa Bay, the metropolitan area, is defined by the water that limits it. That's what I'm saying in the aluminum scuptures shown in this post.

In this image, the perspective is that of a "landlubber"…the emphasis is on the landmass of Tampa Bay. The image is virtually a map.

 

In the second image, the emphasis is reversed to show the perspective of a water creature.  The water of Tampa Bay becomes the dominant focus of the work. If you were a manatee or a snook, this would be your map of Tampa Bay!
